Hi guys! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I know I am 🙂  My Mom took my two girls yesterday for a sleepover, and is keeping them all day today. She had a lot of fun activities planned for them so I know they are having a blast! Thanks Mom! Kale and I are loving the peace and quiet. We just have the baby and he is such a mellow little guy so it’s so relaxing and strangely peaceful in my house! I LOVE IT!!

As for the Sloppy Joe recipe, I made it Thursday night for dinner and we totally loved it. I found it in that same, good ol Pillsbury magazine! It called for a can of sloppy joe sauce, but I use a WAY better one! It is a homemade sauce that is in the Food Nanny cookbook. My sis Lindsey gave it to me for Christmas a few years ago and I absolutely love it! The Sloppy Joe Squares recipe also calls for pillsbury crescent rolls as the breading, and you also put cheese in the center. If your trying to be healthy (like I try to be every once in awhile )  Then you can pass on the cheese and omit the crescents that go on the bottom of the pan. But do whatever your little heart tells you to do. These are totally delish and I’m sure no matter how you make them, you’ll love them!

Sloppy Joe Squares

The sauce:

1 tbs butter

1/4 c chopped onion

1 lb ground beef

1 c ketchup

1/2 c water

1/4 c brown sugar

2 tbs Worcestershire sauce

1 tbs red wine vinegar

2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

You will also need:

2 cans Pillsbury, Big & Buttery crescent rolls

2 c shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Heat your oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet, melt your butter and then throw in your onion and cook until soft. Add the meat and cook until browned. Drain the grease.

Add all the rest of your sauce ingredients, stir until well combined, and reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, uncovered. In a 9×13 ungreased baking pan, roll out your first roll of crescent dough. Press into the bottom to completely cover and also press 1/2 inch up on the sides. Pour your hot sloppy joe mixture on top and spread out evenly over dough. Sprinkle your cheese evenly over the mixture, and then cover the mixture with your other roll of dough. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool 5-10 minutes before eating! **Note: It needs to cook for atleast 30 minutes for the dough on the bottom to be thoroughly cooked. If the top looks really golden brown before the 30 minutes is up, then throw a piece of tin foil over the top**
